Karnataka Govt.to Spend Rs.17 crore on rain prayers Pujas

Karnataka Govt.to Spend Rs.17 crore on  rain prayers Pujas

India –
Karnataka –
Karnataka state government has notified the order following a severely deficit monsoon this year, asking temples to hold special pujas, including Jalabhishekas, between July 27 and August 7.

Karnataka state government has decided to spend
Rs 17 crore on special rain prayers.
Special pujas will be held at 34,000 temples each costing Rs 5000.

According to Indian ancient stories, God Varuna is responsible for rain.
Thus, now government has decided to chant Varuna Mantra after that God Varuna will become happy and he will give rain, water to the people of Karnataka.

This is just a waste of money by state government.

Karnataka Government does not know the Article 51 of the constitution of India.
Now in this case Supreme Court should order and stop the spending of money on Poojas and Mantra.

Article 51A in The Constitution Of India 1949

51A. Fundamental duties It shall be the duty of every citizen of India

(a) to abide by the Constitution and respect its ideals and institutions, the national Flag and the National Anthem;

(b) to cherish and follow the noble ideals which inspired our national struggle for freedom;

(c) to uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India;

(d) to defend the country and render national service when called upon to do so;

(e) to promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst all the people of India transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities; to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women;

(f) to value and preserve the rich heritage of our composite culture;

(g) to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wild life, and to have compassion for living creatures;

(h) to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform;

(i) to safeguard public property and to abjure violence;

(j) to strive towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity so that the nation constantly rises to higher levels of endeavour and achievement

Hope someone files a PIL regarding this.

Do you think by chanting Mantra there will be rain.

This is another idea to make people happy and improve image and just one more idea to get the votes.

Just think in Rs. 17 Crore how much government can buy food for the cattle’s and starving people

Watch the video listen to Varuna Mantra for rain

hmm we'll just hope for the rain to come maybe?

17 Crores spending by just one state is total waste of money. I seriously hope to save this money for better purpose. People can individually perform simple prayers for rain without spending any money.

We are facing serious drought conditions...just now we had good rain for half an hour...some relief.
